Job summary

Ascension St. Vincent Evansville is seeking an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join its cardiology/electrophysiology program.

The role balances 50/50 between inpatient high-acuity care and outpatient continuity clinics, with a focus on complex arrhythmia management and advanced cardiac procedures. You’ll work with a team of 3 physicians and 5 APPs under Drs Patel, Bedi, and Gaba, with onsite schedule and weekend call rotation.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Nurse Practitioner specializing in Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Master's degree of Nursing required.
• Required Track: Must be a certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) holding or eligible for an Indiana state license.
• Clinical Foundation: Prior clinical background in cardiology (either as a practicing Nurse Practitioner or specialized Registered Nurse) is a requirement for this position.

Responsibilities

• Join an established cardiology team under the supervision of Dr. Umang Patel, Dr. Ashwani Bedi, and Dr. Deepak Gaba.
• Experience a balanced 50/50 blended schedule between high-acuity inpatient care and outpatient continuity clinics.
• Direct integration into an advanced electrophysiology program utilizing clinical technologies like Pacemate, AthenaHealth, and Sunrise Clinical Manager.
• Formulate complex clinical decisions and manage intricate arrhythmia patterns for advanced cardiology and electrophysiology patients across both acute care and clinic settings.
• Deliver highly efficient care coordination, performing comprehensive cardiac consults, diagnostics, and patient rounding to maximize patient throughput and minimize hospital length-of-stay.
• Safely assist and collaborate with electrophysiologists on advanced cardiac procedures while overseeing pre- and post-procedural management.
• Actively support the program's growth through localized clinical outreach operations located within 15–20 minutes of the primary hospital hub.
• Participate in providing top-tier clinical mentorship by hosting future generations of healthcare leaders through UE/USI student clinical rotations.

Schedule: Full-Time | Monday â Friday 8:00 AM â 5:00 PM with an occasional weekend and holiday call rotation
