Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree or accredited medical coding certificate program required.
• Experience: Medical coding experience required; cardiology coding preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: CPC, CCC, CCS or physician-based CCS required.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret clinical documentation to assign ICD-10 and CPT codes with modifiers.
• Ensure coding complies with CMS, Medicare and payer rules.
• Monitor payer policies and coding guidelines for accurate submissions.
• Research and resolve denied claims related to coding issues.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding changes and policy updates.
• Communicate with providers to clarify documentation when needed.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and professional conduct.
• Assist with office support tasks as needed.
