Formación

• High School Diploma or GED required; MA program completion or equivalent military clinical training acceptable (DD214).
• For IL/WI Divisions: MA program completion or 2 years of verifiable MA experience in last 5 years.
• Wake Forest/Floyd/Navicent: High School Diploma or GED; completion of MA program or 2 years MA experience in last 5 years.

Responsabilidades

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice, follows all policies and procedures, and maintains training and competency.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks such as vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, and screenings.
• Assists provider with or performs procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab related duties such as venipuncture, specimen collection/labeling/packing, POCT testing and CLIA waived tests.
• Administers medications and vaccines safely.
• Handles referrals, insurance authorizations, scheduling, and patient messaging.
• Cross-trained to perform duties relevant to specialty or clinic within MA scope.
• Maintains effective communication and teamwork with escalation when needed.
• Keeps environment clean and stocked; ensures equipment is in working order.
• Provides age-appropriate care across the patient lifespan.
