Job summary

Atrium Health Floyd is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant in Georgia. The role includes rooming patients, taking vitals, basic health screenings, and assisting providers with procedures. You will perform lab-related duties, administer vaccines, and support scheduling and referrals as needed.

The position demands adherence to patient safety, accurate documentation, and teamwork in a clinic setting. Certification via AHA BLS may be required and a high school diploma or equivalent is necessary.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or structured military training which is clinical in nature per DD214 in lieu of a formal medical assistant program or EMT.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and maintains competency.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks: vitals, history, screenings, medication reconciliation and health maintenance.
• Assists provider with procedures and performs lab duties including venipuncture and specimen handling.
• Administers medications and vaccines following correct administration procedures.
• Coordinates patient scheduling, referrals, and insurance authorizations; supports team communication.
