Job summary

Atrium Health in Rome, GA is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care in a fast-paced clinical setting. The role involves rooming patients, taking history and vitals, performing or assisting with procedures, and participating in POCT and basic lab tasks.

Strong communication, computer skills, and customer service are essential. Minimum education includes a Medical Assistant program and current BLS certification. This is a full-time on-site position.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 2 years of verifiable MA experience.
• Current BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients, taking vital signs, medical history and screenings.
• Assist provider with or perform procedures as ordered.
• Venipuncture and specimen collection in accordance with orders.
• Administer medications and vaccines following the rights of administration.
• Schedule appointments, handle referrals and insurance authorizations.
• Maintain clean, stocked work areas and equipment.
