Job summary

Hawthorne Health is seeking an experienced Cardiology Principal Investigator (MD/DO) for a part-time, 1099 role to lead Cardiology/Metabolic trials within our community-based site network. You will ensure protocol adherence, patient safety, and high-quality data collection.

Role requires on-site presence 1–4 times per month with remote oversight (3–5 hours weekly). Compensation ranges from $100 to $250 per hour, with terms flexible by experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

• MD/DO with leadership of at least three sponsor-initiated trials as PI/Sub-I.
• Current, unrestricted medical license.
• Board certification in Cardiology preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ICH-GCP guidelines and FDA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Document findings and contribute to trials, registries, or protocols.
• Oversee all aspects of trials at the site, ensuring protocol and regulatory compliance.
• Lead and supervise the clinical research team and training.
• Delegate duties to qualified personnel with proper oversight.
• Remote review of patient assessments to support enrollment decisions.
• Interpret laboratory results and diagnostic tests.
• Make medical decisions regarding participant care and safety.
• Ensure complete data collection and documentation.
• Communicate with sponsors, CROs, IRBs, and regulators.
• Manage IP accountability, storage, and administration per protocol.
• Participate in site initiation, monitoring, audits, and inspections.
