Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking an Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator in Medicine to coordinate and manage clinical trials. You will screen patients, collect data, monitor safety, and maintain study records. The role requires robust regulatory knowledge and collaboration with investigators and IRB.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Experience performing clinical research duties in a clinical research environment.
• Experience with laboratory procedures and interpreting results for eligibility and toxicities.
• Familiarity with FDA policies regulating clinical trials.
• Experience completing clinical trials CRFs (case report forms) and data entry.
• Experience recruiting study subjects and coordinating startup activities.
• Strong planning, organizational skills and ability to manage multiple demands.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication and confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently and interact with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage clinical trials including protocol management and data collection.
• Screen for patient eligibility, obtain vitals, ECGs, and other measurements.
• Monitor adverse events, report toxicities, and ensure protocol compliance.
• Maintain accurate research files and VELOS database entries consistently.
• Serve as liaison between Investigators, IRB, and study sponsors.
• Assist Project Manager/Director with university account statements and invoicing.
