Job summary

UC San Diego's Department of Medicine seeks an experienced Clinical Research Coordinator to coordinate and manage clinical trials, including screening for eligibility, data collection, adverse event reporting, and protocol compliance. You will work with the Regulatory team, assist with IRB submissions, maintain trial files in VELOS, and communicate with investigators and sponsors.

The role requires strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in biology, microbiology, or related field.
• Experience performing clinical research duties in a clinical environment.
• Experience with laboratory procedures and interpreting results for eligibility and toxicities.
• Experience with FDA policies regulating clinical trials.
• Experience completing CRF forms and with recruitment.
• Experience coordinating study startup activities.
• Excellent organizational and written/verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Velos, Access, Excel, and MS Word.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage clinical trials including protocol management, eligibility screening, data collection and analysis.
• Assist regulatory with IRB submissions, renewals, safety reports, and liaise with investigators and sponsors.
• Maintain accurate and complete clinical research files and VELOS entries; update study records.
• Schedule visits, process laboratory specimens, and track adverse events and protocol deviations.
• Communicate with diverse groups and provide in-service training as needed.
