Job summary

College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy in North Carolina seeks a Medical Assistant (or NC LPN/Paramedic) to support clinical staff by obtaining patient paperwork, records, and reviewing cardiac data for pre-charting in Epic EMR.

You will assist with examinations, collect specimens, verify insurance and demographics, obtain authorizations, and help with scheduling follow-ups while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program with Certification OR NC LPN license OR NC Paramedic.
• Experience assisting with patient care (vital signs, specimen collection, EKG) required.
• Epic EMR experience, office skills, medical terminology and insurance terminology preferred.
• Excellent communication and computer skills; customer service oriented.
• Cardiology office experience (2+ years) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain new patient paperwork and medical records; review for cardiac information for pre-charting in Epic EMR.
• Assist with examinations and procedures; collect specimens as ordered.
• Verify demographics, insurance, and obtain required signatures; collect co-pays.
• Balance daily payments and manage scheduling of follow-up and referrals.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance; support front desk as needed.
