Job summary

Christus Health seeks an RN to provide comprehensive nursing care in alignment with ANA standards. You will assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while addressing emotional and social needs of patients and families.

You will administer treatments, monitor responses, document histories, and educate patients and families. New hires undergo orientation within 30 days, with precepted onboarding and annual competency verification.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred
• All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.
• New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member and initial on-boarding requirements are validated through competency validations.
• Completion of all annual competency verification requirements.
• Experience one year in Critical Care preferred but will accept new graduates. ACLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation.
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patient and families.
• Administers medications and treatments using appropriate protocol; monitors side-effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members and/or caregivers.

Education

Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing

1 year nursing experience (preferred)
