Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Texarkana, TX seeks a qualified registered nurse to provide and coordinate patient care in a fast-paced setting. You will work independently within the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for assigned patients.

The role requires a BSN preferred, BLS, ACLS, and an RN license. One year of acute care experience preferred; new graduates welcome with orientation. Full-time schedule, 5 days, 8 hours.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• BLS required.
• RN License in state of employment or compact.
• All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.
• New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member and initial on-boarding requirements are validated.
• Completion of all annual competency verification requirements.
• ACLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies.
• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process for assigned patients.
• Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administers medications and treatments; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients and families.
