Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider to join the Cardio-Oncology outpatient clinic. The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will work closely with physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and support staff within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include comprehensive examinations, developing care plans, ordering and interpreting tests, and providing patient education and referrals.

Qualifications

• Cardiology experience as a provider or strong cardiac nursing experience preferred.
• Master's degree in nursing or ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program completion is required.
• Texas licensure with prescriptive authority for APRN (AGACNP, FNP-C) or PA-C licensure is required, ACLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducts comprehensive initial and ongoing physical examinations.
• Develops and evaluates patient care plans, ordering and interpreting tests.
• Demonstrates proficiency in clinical procedures as appropriate to specialty.
• Provides management, referrals, counseling, and education to patients and families.
• Collaborates in research projects and applies evidence-based practices.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
