Cardinal Schools Substitute Special Education Teacher

Renhill Group is currently looking for flexible, compassionate individuals who are committed to student learning and success to work on a substitute (part‑time, on‑call) basis as a teacher at Cardinal Schools in Middlefield, Ohio for the 2025-2026 school year.

These positions are specifically working in special education classrooms through the ESC of the Western Reserve.

Substitute Teachers play a vital role in the educational process. They are responsible for creating and maintaining a classroom environment that is effective, safe, and conducive to learning and have the unique ability to teach with a rapidly changing classroom population of various skills and progress levels. Responsibilities

As a substitute special education teacher, you will:

• Teach students in special education classrooms under the oversight of the ESC.
• Create and maintain a safe and effective learning environment for a rapidly changing classroom population.
• Adhere to instructional plans and modify as necessary.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (any field of study)
• BCI & FBI background checks (dated within the past 12 months, on file with the Ohio Department of Education; can be conducted by Renhill Group for $55 if not already obtained)
• Substitute Teaching License or copy of Teaching License (Renhill Group will assist with obtaining license; cost $25 paid directly to Ohio Department of Education)

Enrollment in State Teachers Retirement System (STRS) with 14% employer match.
