Job summary

Corewell Health in Grand Rapids is seeking a Nurse Tech for the 6 Meijer Heart Center unit to support inpatient care on a large, fast-paced unit. The role includes vital signs, basic nursing tasks, and patient safety duties under RN supervision, with occasional float to similar units for 1:1 care.

Orientation covers first and third weeks, including sheath removal skills training. Competence in documentation and patient observation is essential to deliver quality cardiac and vascular care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• AHA/ARC BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Experience in direct patient care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take vitals, monitor blood sugars, and perform basic patient care tasks.
• Ambulate patients, provide wound care, and assist with catheterization as needed.
• Act as safety attendant and float to similar units for 1:1 care when required.
• Ensure accurate and timely charting and documentation in the health record.
• Collaborate with RNs and providers in delivering high-quality patient care.
