Corewell Health Wayne Hospital is seeking a Cardiac Ultrasound professional with RDCS/RCS credentials or equivalent. The role focuses on diagnostic imaging, teaching clinical staff, and mentoring students in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities include performing advanced echocardiography and related studies, while collaborating with the Echo department to support patient care. This part-time daytime position offers benefits and professional growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent; graduate of Diagnostic Ultrasound Program.
• BLS certification (AHA) required on hire.
• ARDMS certification paths with cardiac exclusions; 1 year experience.
• Vascular/OB/Gyn options also acceptable with 1 year experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations including 2D, spectral/color Doppler, m-mode.
• Instruct medical personnel in technical performance and cardiac ultrasound applications.
• Mentor/preceptor role for ultrasonographers or students when needed.

CASUAL POSITION-DAYS

About Corewell Health Wayne Hospital opened its doors to western Wayne communities in 1957. This full-service hospital is the only hospital in the Wayne, Westland, Garden City, Canton, Inkster and Romulus area verified by the American College of Surgeons as a Level III Trauma Center. The hospital has a longstanding partnership with Detroit Metropolitan Airport and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to handle a wide variety of health and communicable disease concerns including mass trauma and emergency patients.

Scope to Work Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations consisting of: Two-dimensional imaging, spectral and color flow Doppler, m-mode; trans esophageal; exercise and pharmacologic echocardiograms; saline and left ventriclar opacification studies on adult patients. Instruction of medical personnel in technical performance, clinical application, and cardiac pathology as it pertains to cardiac ultrasound. May act as a mentor/preceptor for other Ultrasonographers and/or students. This is a Cardiac Ultrasound position; only RDCS, ACS, or RCS credentials are required.

• Qualifications Required associate's degree or equivalent Graduate of Diagnostic Ultrasound Program or equivalent. Minimal as gained at student level.
