Job summary

Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital in Royal Oak, MI seeks an experienced Ultrasonographer to perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound exams, including 2D imaging, Doppler, and advanced studies. The role includes mentoring staff and ensuring high-quality imaging for adult patients.

Required are an associate degree or equivalent in diagnostic ultrasound, BLS at hire, and ARDMS certifications (or equivalent). A strong background in various echocardiography modalities is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent; Graduate of Diagnostic Ultrasound Program or equivalent.
• BLS certification required at hire (AHA or ARC).
• ARDMS certifications in appropriate specialties (Cardiac, Breast, Abdomen, OB/Gyn, RDCS/RCS) required or 1-year equivalent experience.
• Vascular Dept: ARDMS within 1 year of hire where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations including 2D imaging, spectral and color flow Doppler, and m-mode.
• Perform transesophageal, exercise and pharmacologic echocardiograms; left ventricular opacification studies as indicated.
• Instruct and mentor medical personnel in technical performance and cardiac ultrasound applications.

Scope to Work

Perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations consisting of: Two-dimensional imaging, spectral and color flow Doppler, m-mode; trans esophageal; exercise and pharmacologic echocardiograms; saline and left ventricular opacification studies on adult patients. Instruction of medical personnel in technical performance, clinical application, and cardiac pathology as it pertains to cardiac ultrasound. May act as a mentor/preceptor for other Ultrasonographers and/or students.

Qualifications

• Required associate's degree or equivalent Graduate of Diagnostic Ultrasound Program or equivalent.
