Job summary

Lutheran Hospital's Advanced Cardiac Therapy (ACT) unit in Fort Wayne, IN, seeks a Registered Nurse for 36 hours/week (0.9 FTE) on the night shift (7p-7a). A welcome bonus up to $35,000 is available as part of the 2026 pay rates.

The ACT team cares for heart failure, rhythm monitoring, and post-heart attack patients, while also handling general med/surg duties. The RN provides patient-centered care, coordinates with physicians and the care team, and ensures safe, high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role
• RN licensure in good standing (state licensure and/or compact)
• BCLS required; ACLS/PALS preferred

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver patient-centered care per nursing process
• Assess and document patient condition; communicate changes to care team
• Administer medications; monitor for side effects; document accurately
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team to plan and evaluate care
• Respond to emergencies and participate in life-saving interventions as needed
• Provide patient and family education on conditions, treatment, and post-discharge care
