Job summary

Bon Secours in Petersburg is seeking a Clinical Unit Leader – Southside Medical Center to coordinate patient care on a designated unit, in collaboration with the Clinical Manager. You will guide staff, ensure safety, and promote excellence in clinical practice and patient experience.

The role requires a BSN (preferred), active RN license, BLS, and certifications as per unit requirements. You will mentor staff, participate in quality improvement, and support mission and values of Bon Secours.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred; active RN license in state they are working or compact
• BLS certification preferred upon hire
• Certifications required based on unit overseen (PALS/ACLS/NRP/TNCC/ENPC) depending on unit

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care on a designated unit and with the care team
• Provide staff guidance and clinical support; oversee unit in absence of leader
• Maintain environment with safety standards and infection control
• Communicate effectively with patients and families about plan of care
• Perform rounds to evaluate safety, quality, and patient experience
• Serve as a resource to staff, patients and families to ensure communication
• Act as a clinical resource and mentor staff; may serve as preceptor
• Engage in interprofessional collaboration for care coordination and continuity
• Resolve operational problems by coordinating with other departments
• Contribute to ongoing quality monitoring and performance improvement
