Qualifications

• Completion of a Telemetry Monitoring Technician education program or equivalent experience.
• Experience reading ECG rhythms and interpreting trends.
• Ability to monitor patients for extended periods and respond to alarms.

Responsibilities

• Provides continual surveillance and analysis of cardiac rhythms on the central monitoring station; documents and interprets ECG rhythms.
• Escalates significant or life-threatening changes immediately to a Registered Nurse; communicates clearly within established timeframes.
• Operates and troubleshoots telemetry monitoring system; accounts for all monitors at end of shift.
• Admits, transfers, and discharges patient and enters information in telemetry monitoring system.
• Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to policies and standards within budgetary specs.
• Supports department goals and mentoring of less experienced staff.
