Job summary

WH Wheeling Hospital Inc. is seeking a Cardiac Monitor Technician to support telemetry services in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role involves continuous cardiac monitoring, ECG interpretation, and timely communication with medical and nursing staff to ensure patient safety. You will work with EPIC and telemetry tools, manage clerical duties, and assist with admissions and routine department operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Obtain Heartsaver or BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Successful completion of a Basic Dysrhythmia course.
• Graduate of Technical Education Program or Medical Assistant Program (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Performs cardiac monitoring for telemetry and hard-wire patients, identifying changes and reporting rhythms or life-threatening events to medical staff.
• Analyses ECG strips and documents patient rhythm changes per guidelines.
• Uploads patient rhythms to EPIC using Wave Strip Export.
• Monitors pulse oximetry for assigned patients.
• Uses Epic/Telemetry Dashboard to track admissions, discharges and transfers.
• Assembles telemetry packs and ensures inventory of supplies.
• Troubleshoots equipment and notifies Biomedical/Manager as needed.
• Greet and admit patients to the department; support daily operations.
• Maintains patient and department records for accurate documentation.
• Coordinates intradepartmental and interdepartmental communications.
• Welcomes visitors and responds to information requests.
• Assists physicians with information about patient/department routines per policy.
• Coordinates interdepartmental transportation of patients.
