Job summary

Tower Health’s Reading Hospital is seeking a Monitor Technician to perform high- level patient surveillance and instantly alert nursing staff of any changes in cardiac rate or rhythm. You will monitor, record, and report heart rhythms from patient monitors while assisting with telemetry and general observation per orders.

The position emphasizes equipment setup on admission, transfer or discharge and routine maintenance to ensure reliable monitoring.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient cardiac monitors and notify clinicians of changes.
• Monitor seizure and fall risk activity for telemetry per orders where applicable.
• Initiate and discontinue monitoring equipment on admission, transfer, or discharge.
• Conduct maintenance and troubleshooting of monitoring equipment to ensure proper operation.
