Job summary

WVU Medicine is seeking a dedicated Telemetry Monitor/Unit Clerk to support the cardiac care unit. You will monitor telemetry and hard-wire patients, interpret rhythm changes, and document events for timely ant reporting to medical teams.

The role requires basic computer skills, Epic experience, and adherence to hospital policies. Shift includes night hours with a standard 40-hour week and non-exempt status.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification in Heartsaver or Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
• Complete Basic Dysrhythmia course as department requires.
• Preferred graduate of Technical Education or Medical Assistant program.

Responsibilities

• Monitor telemetry and hard-wire patients, identify rhythm changes and alert staff.
• Analyze ECG strips and document rhythm changes per guidelines.
• Upload rhythms using Wave Strip Export to EPIC charts.
• Monitor pulse oximetry for assigned patients in centralized unit.
• Maintain EPIC/Telemetry Dashboard accuracy for admissions and discharges.
• Assemble telemetry packs and ensure battery/equipment readiness.
• Troubleshoot equipment and notify Biomedical/Manager as needed.
• Assist with patient admissions and department communications.
• Maintain accurate patient and department records and documentation.
