Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System in Olathe seeks an RN Unit Coordinator for Cardiac Telemetry, full-time night shift. This role provides charge nurse responsibilities, assigns staff, manages throughput, and supports budget and productivity targets.

You will collaborate with the Nurse Manager and HR on performance management, mentor staff, ensure standards, and drive unit performance improvement; bachelor’s in nursing and RN license required; BSN encouraged for future advancement.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate.
• Bachelor Degree in Nursing.
• BSN degree required upon hire for Southwest KC market locations after Nov 1, 2025; ADN nurses hired before must enroll in BSN within 6 months and complete BSN by third anniversary.

Responsibilities

• Provides charge nurse responsibilities, including assignments, management of throughput, staffing to matrix, and responding to patient and staff needs.
• Manages a patient care assignment as indicated by patient care needs.
• Assists with hiring, education and performance evaluation of the staff.
• Works with the Nurse Manager and Human Resources in performance management counseling and discipline of staff.
• Instructs staff and ensures compliance with standards through daily on-going monitoring and performance management.
• Serves as a role model and mentor for excellence in clinical practice and patient and employee satisfaction.
• Takes personal responsibility for achieving productivity targets and budget compliance.
• Has primary involvement and responsibility for unit performance improvement activities and outcomes.
