Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO, is hiring a Patient Care Associate (PCA) / Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Cardiac Telemetry unit. The unit handles arrhythmia, chest pain, and heart failure patients, following AHA guidelines for heart failure care.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, GED, CNA/CPTC certification, or enrollment in a healthcare career program; Mercy co-workers eligible.
• Experience: No prior experience required
• Physical Requirements: Lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk long shifts, bend/kneel/twist/squat

Responsibilities

• Record vital signs and enter data into the electronic medical record.
• Assist patients with daily needs (meals, bathing, toileting, mobility).
• Provide clerical support as needed.
• PCT responsibilities: phlebotomy, enteral feedings, wound care, IV/ Foley removal, tracheostomy care and suctioning
