Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Patient Care Associate (PCA) / Patient Care Technician (PCT).

The role supports patient care under RN/LPN guidance, with day and night shifts, part-time and full-time schedules, and a comprehensive training pathway. Responsibilities include vital signs, daily patient assistance, and clerical duties; PCT duties add phlebotomy, enteral feedings, wound and IV care, and catheter removal.

Qualifications

• Education requirements are listed (high school diploma, GED, CNA/CPTC).
• No prior experience required.
• Current Mercy coworkers eligible.

Responsibilities

• Record vital signs and enter data into the EMR.
• Assist patients with meals, bathing, toileting and mobility.
• Provide clerical support as needed.
• Phlebotomy and blood culture collection (PCT responsibilities).
• Perform wound care, IV/ Foley removal and enteral feedings.
• Tracheostomy care and suctioning when required.
