Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Delnor Cardiac Telemetry Unit. The role supports RN staff, monitors vital signs, and assists with daily living activities to ensure patient comfort and safety.

The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, CNA/CMA/EMT certification (or nursing student with one semester of clinical), and BLS. Three 12-hour day shifts with rotating weekends and holidays are included.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be certified as a CNA, CMA, EMT, or be a nursing student with one semester of clinical.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic nursing care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN.
• Monitors vital signs and records intake and output.
• Assists patients with daily living activities and personal care.
• Reports changes in condition to nursing staff.
• Keeps patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Manages unit workflow with the charge RN as needed.
• Acts as liaison between units and other departments.
