Job summary

WellSpan York Hospital is seeking a clinical support nurse aide to join Tower 2 on a 60-bed unit. Shifts include full-time and part-time with rotating day/evening hours; every 3rd weekend and rotating holiday requirements apply.

The role involves taking vital signs, assisting with activities of daily living, stocking supplies, and performing EKGs and Point‑of‑Care testing. Requires a High School diploma; CNA preferred; BLS on hire; less than 1 year of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Takes patient vital signs and provides direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provides general nursing care and personal care assistance to patients, including activities of daily living.
• Monitors patient condition levels and reports changes to the RN.
• Performs hourly rounds to identify patient needs.
• Obtains and documents vital signs electronically.
• Trains and precepts new employees.
• Performs Point-of-Care testing (e.g., glucose) and maintains QC records.
• Prepares patients for tests and transports them as needed.
• Collects specimens according to protocol.
• Performs EKGs and transmits studies.
• Maintains equipment and restocks supplies on the unit.
• Stocking patient rooms and nursing areas with needed items.
