Danbury Hospital in Danbury, CT is seeking a Nursing Monitor Tech to perform continuous cardiac rhythm monitoring on a unit or remotely in a central setting. You will interpret rhythms, verify lead placement, and escalate rhythm changes to nursing staff as needed.

The role requires BLS competency, a high school diploma or equivalent, and ideally six months in acute care with dysrhythmia knowledge. Union benefits are available and a salary range is posted.

Qualifications

• Maintain competency for Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Successful test score on cardiac rhythm interpretation test.
• Minimum six months experience; acute care experience and prior dysrhythmia recognition course preferred.

Responsabilités

• Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms; communicates findings.
• Reviews patient information to determine baseline rhythm and variances.
• Assists with telemetry lead placement and skin preparation as needed.
• Notifies nursing staff of lead issues and rhythm changes; escalates when RN unavailable.
• Maintains knowledge of central monitoring system operation and reliability.
• Troubleshoots telemetry equipment and coordinates biomedical repairs.
• Maintains telemetry equipment and supplies inventory.
• Adheres to behavioral standards, protects patient confidentiality, and supports change.
• Documents patient telemetry periods and data per protocol.
• Analyzes rhythm and records measurements per established protocols.
• Attends staff meetings and reviews minutes.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
