Job summary

Danbury Hospital is seeking a nursing assistant to provide direct patient care on the Cardiac Telemetry unit. You will support licensed staff, perform point-of-care testing, and assist with daily activities while maintaining patient safety and comfort.

Requires a high school diploma and preferably active CNA certification. BLS/CPR must be obtained within 90 days of start date; prior hospital experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Active CNA certification is preferred.
• BLS/CPR required within 90 days of start date.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical care to assigned patients and performs technical skills such as point of care testing.
• Implements nursing orders promptly and with understanding of their purpose.
• Follows policy and procedure for assigned patient care activities, including unit equipment.
• Provides patient comfort by positioning, bathing, linens, and respectful assistance.
• Ensures patient safety through preventative measures and hourly rounding.
• Enters all data into the computer system as applicable.
