Job summary

HSHS Medical Group's St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL seeks a Surgical Technologist (Cardiac) to support the perioperative team. You will prepare and monitor instruments, maintain the sterile field, and assist with patient transfer and positioning for cardiac procedures.

Qualifications

• Graduated from a recognized surgical technology program or currently enrolled and expected to graduate within nine months of hire.
• Military training in surgical technology accepted; DD214 documentation required.
• Illinois: High School Diploma or GED plus 3 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist may be considered in lieu of education.
• Associates degree in surgical technology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists surgical team in providing intraoperative care by preparing and monitoring equipment.
• Passes instruments and maintains the sterile field.
• Assists with patient transfer and positioning and performs various surgical tasks.
