Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital in Connecticut is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for Cardiovascular Surgical care. You will provide comprehensive, patient-centered nursing for adults recovering from cardiac and thoracic surgery, including CABG, valve procedures, and other complex interventions.

The role requires strong clinical judgment, precise assessments, and the ability to manage post-operative cardiovascular patients in a fast-paced acute care setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license in Connecticut with BLS certification.
• ACLS preferred or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to cardiovascular surgical patients.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor cardiac rhythms, hemodynamic status and post-operative progress.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments per orders and protocols.
• Manage chest tubes, pacing wires, surgical drains, telemetry, and wounds.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond to cardiac emergencies promptly.
• Collaborate with surgeons, cardiologists, AP providers, rehab therapists and the care team.
