Job summary

Trinity Health Of New England is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Cardiovascular Surgical (CV Surgical) unit. The role provides comprehensive postoperative nursing care to adults recovering from CABG, valve and aortic procedures, with emphasis on strong clinical judgment and rapid post-op assessment in a fast-paced setting.

The position supports 12-hour day shifts, full-time schedule of 36 hours per week, and a benefits package including medical and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with RN licensure in Connecticut.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Inpatient cardiology/telemetry or acute care experience is favorable.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to cardiovascular surgical patients.
• Perform comprehensive assessments and monitor cardiac rhythms, hemodynamics, vitals and labs.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and blood products per orders.
• Manage chest tubes, pacing wires, drains, telemetry and wounds.
• Respond to changes in patient condition and rapid response events.
• Collaborate with surgeons, cardiologists and the interdisciplinary team.
