Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, CT is seeking a Perioperative Cardiac Nurse (RN) to support cardiovascular diagnostic and procedural services by preparing patients, administering moderate sedation, monitoring during procedures, and providing Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery care. This full‑time, day‑shift role offers a 6:30 am–3:00 pm schedule with on‑call every fourth weekend.

Qualified candidates will have an accredited nursing degree, CT RN license, and 1+ year of cardiac

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Valid RN license in Connecticut.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Cardiovascular Step‑Down, ICU, PACU, Pre/Post Surgery, Cardiac Medical/Telemetry, or related acute cardiac setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide peri‑procedural nursing care, including patient preparation, education, assessment, and family communication.
• Administer and monitor moderate sedation and ensure patient safety throughout cardiac procedures.
• Assist with Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEEs) and exercise‑based cardiac stress testing, including intra‑procedure monitoring and post‑procedure recovery.
• Perform Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery care, deliver thorough clinical handoffs, and ensure safe discharge.
