Job summary

Mass General Brigham in Boston is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Cardiac Surgery Step Down Unit. This full-time role offers 40 hours per week with 3–13 hour day/night shifts on a rotating schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Under supervision of Cardiac Surgeons and Heart Center Intensivists, the APP will participate in rounds, order tests, help develop care plans, discharge planning, and provide patient education to ensure high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant required.
• Current MA RN/APRN or PA licensure required.
• Experience in cardiac surgery preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and education to cardiac surgery patients.
• Assist surgeons in the operating room and perform bedside procedures.
• Order and interpret tests, develop care plans, and discharge planning.
• Ensure timely clinical documentation.
