Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Cardiac Surgery Inpatient service on a full-time rotating schedule. The NP/PA will provide pre and postoperative care under the supervision of the surgeon and clinical manager, including inpatient evaluation, orders, and coordination of care across CCU, CVICU, MICU, and related units.

The role requires MA licensure/registration as NP or PA, BLS and ACLS, plus 3–5 years of experience

Qualifications

• Master's degree required.
• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license required.
• BLS/ACLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Preoperative evaluation and orders for diagnostic tests.
• Inpatient pre/postoperative care in CCU/CVICU/MICU and related units.
• Placement/removal of central lines, arterial lines, chest tubes, pacing wires as directed.
• Discharge planning and communication with cardiologist/PCP.
• Education of patients and families; collaboration with surgical team.
