Job summary

Mount Auburn Hospital, a Harvard-affiliated teaching hospital and member of Beth Israel Lahey Health, is seeking an experienced Cardiac Surgery Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for a full-time role. This position supports a collaborative cardiac surgery team in both OR and inpatient settings.

The candidate will assist in surgeries, perform EVH, care for CT ICU patients, and help with chest tube management and procedures, while documenting thoroughly and coordinating discharges.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of cardiac surgery and/or cardiothoracic ICU experience.
• Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH) experience required.
• First assist surgical experience required.
• Massachusetts PA license or NP licensure in good standing.
• ACLS certification required and DEA/DPH registrations.

Responsibilities

• First assist in cardiac surgery procedures and manage bedside care.
• Provide care across CT ICU and Step-Down Unit with supervision.
• Perform and supervise chest tube management and removal as needed.
• Collaborate with surgeons, intensivists, APPs, and nursing staff.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and transitions of care.
