Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Central Massachusetts seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Cardiac Surgery service. This high-performing, collaborative academic team provides comprehensive cardiac care including open/endovascular procedures and advanced support.

The full-time role features a rotating day/night schedule with three 12-hour shifts weekly, including weekends and holidays, across ICU, post-op, and clinic settings.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited NP/PA program.
• AGACNP-BC board certification.
• Massachusetts license; ACLS and BLS certified.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive histories and physical examinations with medical record review to form diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Order, interpret, and review labs and imaging.
• Participate in daily rounds; evaluate patients; review diagnostic data; document progress.
• Request consultations and communicate with consulting services.
• Assist in surgical and other invasive procedures as approved.
• Provide operative first assisting and endoscopic vein harvesting where applicable.
