Job summary

Carle Health seeks an experienced registered nurse for cardiac stress testing in our main hospital. The RN will perform patient assessment, preparation, monitoring, education, and post-test care in collaboration with cardiology and diagnostic teams.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days per AHA guidelines.
• RN license for Illinois.
• ACLS certification within 1 year per AHA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provides and facilitates competent health care of patients and families in area of practice.
• Performs advanced nursing activities including IV placement and administering pharmacologic agents during stress testing when appropriate.
• Ensures documentation of care is complete and accurate.
• Provides health and wellness education to individuals and groups.
• Acts as preceptor and supports development of staff and students.
• Leads initiatives to improve quality of care and clinical outcomes.
• Assists in development of departmental standing orders.
• Applies Holter/Event monitors.
• Performs EKGs and stress testing with patient monitoring.
