Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a stress testing registered nurse to provide safe, high‑quality care for patients undergoing cardiac stress testing and related non‑invasive cardiovascular diagnostics in the Main Hospital. You will assess, prepare, monitor, educate, and support patients before, during, and after testing, working with cardiologists, technologists, and other team members.

The role requires cardiac experience of 1+ year, BLS, RN license in Illinois, and ACLS within 1 year, with compensation

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days (AHA).
• RN license with Illinois IDFPR.
• ACLS certification within 1 year (AHA).
• College diploma in Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provides and facilitates competent health care of patients and families in area of practice.
• Performs advanced nursing activities including placement of IVs and administering coronary vasodilator drugs for stress tests.
• Ensures complete and accurate documentation of care.
• Provides health and wellness education to individuals and groups.
• Acts as preceptor and supports development of other staff and students.
• Leads initiatives to improve quality of care or outcomes.
• Assists in development of departmental standing orders.
• Apply Holter/Event monitors and perform EKG.
• Perform stress testing and monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, symptoms and patient responses, implementing interventions as needed.
• Administers intravenous medications and fluids.
• Collaborate with providers and diagnostic staff to respond to abnormal findings or emergencies.
