Job summary

Medical Clinic of Houston, LLP is seeking a qualified Cardiographic Technician to perform all modalities in the EKG area and stress lab under direct supervision. You will ensure patient safety, obtain accurate demographics, and explain procedures to patients.

Responsibilities include monitoring EKG rhythm and hemodynamics, conducting treadmill and nuclear stress tests, preparing supplies, supervising preparation of radioisotopes, and coordinating with physicians.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology/Exercise Science or related field, or 1 year of related clinical field experience with CCT.
• ACLS certification or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• CAOHC course completion within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform all modalities in the EKG area and stress lab under direct supervision.
• Screen medical history for contraindications before, during and after stress procedures.
• Explain test procedures to patients and answer questions.
• Monitor EKG rhythm and hemodynamic status during stress tests.
• Prepare patients and equipment for tests and ensure safety and privacy.
• Covers front desk and manages scheduling/check-in for Nuclear Medicine procedures.
• Calibrate equipment and maintain supplies.
• Log patient information for monitors and download data.
• Assist reading cardiologist with urgent findings.
