Job summary

Qualifications

• Cardiovascular nursing experience with knowledge of Cardiac Arrhythmias and advanced Cardiac Arrhythmias.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing program with three to five years med/surg nursing experience to include two to three years of Critical Care nursing
• Current registration with the State of Texas Board of Nurse Examiners
• BLS and ACLS by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Responsibilities

• Consistently supports the hospital's Spirit of Serving Standards and SJMC values.
• Interview patients/families to obtain comprehensive cardiac assessments and document data.
• Prepares patients according to testing guidelines and manufacturer recommendations.
• Assesses patients' condition during exercise, documents responses, and communicates with physicians as required.
• Renders professional nursing care, administers medications, starts IVs, and manages nursing interventions to stabilize patients.
• Participates in quality improvement activities and stays current with cardiology trends.
