UNC Rex – Raleigh, NC is hiring a Clinical Nurse II for the 5HV Cardiovascular Surgery Stepdown. You will care for high-acuity cardiovascular and vascular surgery patients, work within a multidisciplinary team, and help transition patients from ICU to progressive care.

The role requires current RN license, BLS, and at least one year in acute care, with opportunities for professional growth, sign-on incentives, and relocation support through UNC Rex.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in North Carolina.
• BLS certification required.
• At least one year of acute care nursing experience.
• Preferred Progressive Care/Stepdown/Telemetry or ICU CV nursing experience.
• Experience caring for post-operative cardiac/vascular patients.
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent teamwork and communication.
• Passion for cardiovascular nursing and professional growth.

Responsabilités

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care to high-acuity cardiovascular surgery patients.
• Perform comprehensive cardiovascular assessments and recognize changes in patient condition.
• Manage complex therapies, including vasoactive medication titration and advanced oxygen delivery.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, APPs, pharmacists, and respiratory therapists.
• Educate patients and families throughout their recovery journey.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development.
• Support and mentor fellow team members while fostering a culture of teamwork.
