Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Cardiac Sonographer to perform diagnostic echocardiograms and stress echoes in the Pineville Echocardiography department. You will record quality data, explain procedures to patients, and collaborate with physicians to ensure high-quality care.

Responsibilities include operating equipment, organizing reporting steps, and submitting final reports. Requires HS diploma, cardiac ultrasound training, RDCS within 1 year, and BLS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a cardiac ultrasound training program.
• RDCS certification must be obtained within 1 year of employment.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic echocardiograms and stress echo procedures as ordered by physicians.
• Records quality information while performing echocardiographic imaging and follows protocols.
• Explains procedures and potential side effects to patients or families.
• Confirms physician requests and reviews patient history for indications and contraindications.
• Collaborates with physicians to ensure quality patient care.
• Operates echocardiography equipment and maintains patient records.
• Manages reporting stages: study completion, interpretation, and final report.
• Performs portable echocardiograms and participates in on-call weekends and holidays.
