Job summary

WakeMed Heart Center in Raleigh seeks a skilled Cardiac Sonographer to perform echocardiographic studies and document high-quality diagnostic images. You will collaborate with physicians and the care team to support accurate diagnoses and positive patient outcomes.

The role requires an accredited Cardiac Sonography program graduate, at least one year of ultrasound experience, and strong cardiovascular knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Cardiac Sonography or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
  • Minimum of one year ultrasound experience, ideally in cardiovascular setting.
  • Strong understanding of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and disease processes.
  • Ability to work independently while thriving in a team-based environment.
  • Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within established timeframe.

Responsibilities

  • Perform cardiac ultrasound procedures in line with guidelines and departmental standards.
  • Capture and document clear, comprehensive images of cardiovascular structures.
  • Recognize normal and abnormal cardiac anatomy and communicate findings clearly.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment safely, effectively, and efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and uphold quality and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with physicians and clinical team to support patient outcomes.
