Job summary

Phoenix Specialty Hospital is seeking a Telemetry Technician to monitor cardiac rhythms under the direction of the Director of Nursing. You will identify and interpret rhythms, notify nurses of changes, document strips, and support patient care in accordance with state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities include continuous monitoring, timely responses to alarms, admissions/discharges in the central monitoring system, and maintaining logs and records in the electronic health record.

Qualifications

• One year of cardiac monitoring experience.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association preferred.
• Successful completion of hospital rhythm interpretation competency exam.

Responsibilities

• Continuously observe monitors for assigned telemetry patients and keep alarms attended or hand-off.
• Identify arrhythmias, notify nurses of changes, and provide rhythm strips for documentation.
• Record, label, interpret, and file rhythm strips at required intervals.
• Respond to Code Blue and monitor alarms promptly, coordinating with staff.
• Admit, transfer, and discharge patients in the central monitoring system and maintain logs.
• Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic health record and follow safety procedures.
