Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience in cardiac monitoring.
• Certificate of completion of an arrhythmia course.
• Rhythm interpretation certification (CRAT or CET) preferred.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).

Responsibilities

• Continuously observes and interprets cardiac rhythms on assigned telemetry monitors and notifies the nurse of significant changes.
• Documents rhythm interpretations and labels rhythm strips for each patient at regular intervals.
• Maintains an accurate logging and hand-off process and ensures timely transfers when needed.
• Responds to monitor alarms promptly and collaborates with staff during emergencies and Code Blue events.
• Completes required training and maintains certifications while adhering to hospital policies and safety guidelines.
