MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, IA is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide patient care across the cardiology service line, using the nursing process to assess needs and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team.

The role requires Iowa RN licensure, nursing program graduation, and flexibility with hours. Prior acute care experience is preferred; strong computer skills are essential for charting and care coordination.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a program in professional nursing.
• Current RN licensure in the state of Iowa.
• Previous experience in acute care preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including flexibility with daily starting and ending times.
• Must have proficient computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient’s physical, psychosocial, environmental, spiritual, social and education needs.
• Evaluates and documents patient/family responses to nursing interventions while working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to achieve desired patient care outcomes.
• Guides and directs patient care activities to customize care by utilizing clinical/critical thinking skills.
• Attends and participates in departmental/organizational meetings, inservices and educational opportunities.
• Serves as a steward for the hospital’s human and material resources.
• Meets productivity expectations of unit/department as defined by unit manager.
• Identifies/enters accurate charges.
• Utilizes and maintains appropriate supplies in department.
• Support staffing needs for patient care.
• Responsible for maintaining certification/licensure requirements as directed by position.
• Adapts positively to the ever-changing health care environment by supporting technology and process changes.
• Willing to learn new things is open to change and maintains a calm, positive manner under stressful conditions.
