Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Cardiac Procedural Recovery & Short Stay Unit. This is a Part Time, Day Shift position with anticipated hours 11am-7pm, and Saturdays 7am-11am.

The PCT will provide patient care, assist with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, perform phlebotomy and EKG testing, and support patients undergoing cardiac procedures and post-procedure observation under RN supervision.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required) AND one of the following is required: Sentara Care Partner Certification Program, or CNA, NCMA, NCPCT, Navy Hospital Corps School, Emergency Services including EMR/EMS/EMT/AEMT/Paramedic, or current clinical program enrollment with RN/LPN/RT/PT coursework, or recent PCT/Nursing Assistant experience.

Responsabilités

• Provides patient care, supports activities of daily living, vital signs, mobility and ambulation, phlebotomy, point of care testing, EKG testing, IV removal, specimen collection, Foley catheter insertion/removal, and reports changes to nurse/medical staff.
