Zusammenfassung

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Cardiac Procedural and Surgical Unit. This full‑time night shift role runs 7:00 PM–7:00 AM with rotating weekends and holidays, on a 36-hour work week.

The PCT will assist with patient care, vital signs, EKG testing, phlebotomy, specimen collection, and Foley catheter tasks under RN supervision, in a high acuity cardiac unit serving post‑op and heart patients.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required; CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or similar certs preferred.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• One year healthcare experience preferred.

Aufgaben

• Provide direct patient care and support activities of daily living.
• Monitor vital signs and report changes to RN.
• Perform phlebotomy, point of care testing, EKGs and specimen collection.
• Assist with catheter insertion/removal and IV care as needed.
