Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Cardiac Surgical ICU. This full-time day-shift role (7:00am–7:00pm) offers three 12-hour shifts weekly with rotating weekends and a competitive base pay in a 20-bed unit specializing in post-surgical cardiac care.

You will provide patient care, monitor vitals, assist with mobility, phlebotomy, EKGs, specimen collection, and catheter care under RN supervision.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
• Sentara Care Partner Certification Program
• CNA, NCMA, NCPCT certifications
• US Navy Hospital Corps School
• Emergency Services: EMR/EMS/EMT/AEMT/Paramedic
• Active clinical enrollment in RN/LPN/RT/PT programs
• Experience as PCT/Nursing Assistant within last 3 years

Responsabilités

• Provide patient care and assist with activities of daily living.
• Monitor vital signs and report changes to RN.
• Assist with mobility and ambulation.
• Perform phlebotomy and point-of-care testing.
• Conduct EKG testing and specimen collection.
• Assist with Foley catheter insertion/removal and IV care.
• Follow safety practices under RN direction.
